{FAMILY DAY}

Well, for some familes this is a day that was started as a holiday a few yrs back, to break up the slump in between New Yrs and Easter. Get this, my husband works for a company that does business in quite a few canadian provinces....the people who work for this company in a neighbouring province get this day off......in our province, the company doesn't allow this day off??!!?!?? What's up with that???? I just don't get it. It sure would have been nice to have my hubby home for the day....maybe next year this company will get a clue!!

I had a wonderful weekend! For Christmas this past year, I gave my mom a weekend pass for 2, to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, a championship curling bonsbiel if you will, that includes all the Canadian provinces. She invited me along for 4 out of the 5 draws, and I loved it! It was over 10 years ago that I really got into curling, and it was all because of a local woman who became a national champ. No, I never knew her, but she was from my province, and she was making curling an exciting thing to watch!! She passed away from cancer at a very young age, but I have continued on with watching and enjoying the sport she made famous. She won the very first Gold Medal in the Olymics the year that curling first became an offical winter olympic sport!

I am really looking forward to spring. We have been having some pretty ugly and cold weather. I can't wait to do park days again, or going out and planting some flowers, going for walks and bike rides! What are you looking forward to doing once spring arrives?

(spell check isn't working again)

Whats awesome is we can actually curl here!! They have a curling club about an hour away run by people originally from Saskatoon. How freaky is that!?

SS's funeral was on our first anniversary & I remember watching it in BC @ a little pub style restaurant! Now that I live in SK, her family is just around the corner from me & her girls go to Ethan's school! Her mom is a real gem too :) I didn't have my hubby home for family day either but that's cuz we're self-employed & his staff got it off. It all depends on who's week 'on-call' it is when stats fall! They get to work it!
