Things weren't going so great...

when I overheard a conversation that blessed my heart, and it was just one of those moments you think, ya, this is working!

The morning was going well, and things were getting done, when I decided to switch things up a bit and sit on the front step with the kids and read to them as they were drawing pictures. Well, my littlest, who is quite the trouble maker, decided that wasn't what she wanted to do. She then proceeded to make things worse. Then I just told them all to go play, mommy need to take a breather. They did so, very well I might add until....crying came from the bedroom. My son Noah was crying...I though great, now what, and got up and proceeded to walk to the bedroom when I stopped halfway there to listen to what he was saying to his sisters. Noah was saying stuff like "How would you feel if you were 3 and we were 10 and you were being bossed around (still crying) I wish that you could be 3, so you could see what it was like to be Breanna, she always asks if she can play with us, and we always say no, and we fight over Alexa" I waited for a minute, listening to hear what my 9 yr old would say to her 7 yr old brother. I was flabbergasted when I heard what came out of her mouth, "Your right Noah" WHAT?? What did she just say?? WOW, I started crying and tear up now typing about it. I went in there and told them how proud I was of them for what they both did!

Slowly, but surely they are getting it!! Thank-you Lord for my 4 little blessings!!

This is an old picture, from Christmas Eve 2005, but I love it!

My son is blessed to be alive!!

This is what was stuck in the back of his thigh.....3 1/2 inch long (9cm) sliver!! He was climbing our fence between the two yards to try to get the lilacs from the top on the tree (the only place they grew this year). He lost his balance and fell, came screeching into the house crying, and kept asking 'what's stuck in there, what's in there?' I then proceeded to get the story from him about what happened, and we then decided to rush him to the hospital. My hubby took him, as we were about to have lunch and Emmalee had a friend over. They were back in less than an hour.

It was a huge blessing nothing worse happened. I phoned to tell my mom & dad, and my dad told me a story of a man who bled out in 5 mins from a antler piercing his thigh and died. Thank God this didn't pierce any arteries, or muscles. Just a GREAT BIG sliver.

Hubby and I had a little date last night, longest we've been out in a while. We had some little errands to do, then we went for supper and over to my brothers for a tiny bit. Alexa was telling one of our neighbour kids that we were going out on a date, and she was kinda giggling. So I asked her "What do Mommy's and daddy's do on dates? What does going on a date mean?" And her response is priceless. As she was telling her friend, "They are going to shop until all the stores close!!" She was pretty excited about that! It was so cute!!

Have a great weekend, we are headed out to Dilke tomorrow for a 'pizza night' at my parents place!! MMMmmmm good!

Bathroom!!

I can finally say that the main bathroom is officially finished!!

Here is what it looks like with shelves (Ikea), baskets (Ikea) towel bar and hand towel ring.
What do you think?? How does it look all done? I, personally, LOVE IT! If you hate it, don't tell me, k ;) Thanks :)

Here is a short list of what we still have to do on our house:

Paint the whole main floor
Basement bathroom (total makeover)
Deck
Fence
Remove part of the driveway behind the house
Carpet in the hallway

I'm sure there is more, but this is what we hope to get done this summer/fall/winter!! Sounds like we just moved in, but we've lived here for 10 1/2 years, we're just updating! When we moved in, that's all we had to do was move in...So now we update and add our touch to the house!! Keep you posted!!

My family is back & pictures!!

My family was gone for 3 nights!! I was getting a little lonely. But I did really enjoy the quiet too!
When they got back we had lunch and I made a meal to take to my sister and her family. We left and the kids were able to finally hold their new cousin, and Michael was able to see her for the first time. She is already 3 days old you know!

Breanna didn't want to hold her, silly girl. So many people have said that she looks a little like Alexa. I was also told that Alexa looked like my sister when Cari was little. She definitely looks like Cari when she was a baby!!

We are enjoying her, and are thrilled that we get to be apart of her life!!
I also got to visit my other niece this weekend! She has been shy to us and this weekend, I sat and played with her, and chased her and she giggled, it was great! She's a cutie too!

The week is nearly over

Well, maybe not nearly over for some, but for me it is. My hubby is off on Friday and he is taking the children to his childhood home out near Watrous! I'm staying here in case my sister goes into labour!! I am going to enjoy the time alone for a few days! He's already got plans for things to do out there. I don't have alot of plans for things to do here.
The kids started swimming today. Every Monday and Wednesday mornings. I'm not used to having to be out of the house at a certain time, but it worked out well this morning! Breanna's first time in a lesson today. She did well, much better than she would do with me there.

I stamped a little last week. I made a birthday card for my mom:
(the black embossing says 'the best is yet to be')

I did a technique with dazzling diamonds or irridecent ice I think, I forget what it's called. This is one of my favorite sets. And she kind of had a rose theme (well, the cake and some real roses and this card and the paper in the frame) I think this was a colour challenge on SCS. Maybe even a sketch challenge. I'm not totally into it lately. But I still love creating!!
The trailer thing is on hold. With my hubby's company buying another company, things are a little up in the air. So we want to just sit on the idea for a while, see what happens with his work...pray we don't have to move...I don't want to move...
The long weekend is coming up...and so are the gas prices...can you believe it, a buck twenty for a litre of gas. It's outrageous! What are the gas prices in your area like?

Nope, Nothing...

Still no baby. But I had know someone who had a baby last week, and he was 11lbs!!! Yikes.

Today was my moms birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM. We had a family gathering today here at our house! It was fun, I like having parties ;) We ordered in Pizza and had cake!! Mom got some really nice gifts, and I want to share what I made for her:

She loved it!! I love it and am quite proud of it! I took these pictures over 2 years ago, and one day the screen saver slide show was on on the computer, and one of these pictures came up this past week, and I knew exactly what to make her for her birthday!! This is my mom and her mom, my nanny. She has alzheimer's, my nanny. But a picture doesn't show that. It shows Love. Beauty. Time standing still. Lots of tears were shed today. My nanny is in a home now, close to her husband who has taken care of her for the last few years since the alzheimer's has taken her body over. A disease I will never understand, I miss my nanny, her knowing my children, her great grandchildren. I hate that disease....

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, I hope all you moms have a great day, and get spoiled a little!!

Still No Baby!!

My sister hasn't had my niece or nephew yet. I think it will be this week, well, I hope it is this week!! The date I picked was May 11th! She's still feeling good. She has a doctors appointment this morning, so maybe he will tell her something she doesn't know!? Her due date isn't till May 20th, but she was 10 days early with her first, so who knows!?
Our week isn't as busy this week. We have gymnastics today, care group tomorrow night, and I think that is it. We still have a few things to do to the van, so maybe my husband will work something out with the mechanic and maybe we will have some work done this week as well. I haven't wanted to say anything, cause it isn't 100% for sure yet, but the reason why we have been doing work on our van is this:
We are looking into getting this unit possibly on May 18th. It is a sweet little trailer that is similar to a tent trailer with the pop outs on either end. We can pull it with our van, and it sleeps us all! We are soooo looking forward to it!! If we get it on the 18th, I will be sure to let you all know!!
I will let know you know when I have a new niece or nephew!!

La La La La La La La La La La (smurfs)

We are just puttering along, nothing much to post about. We have somewhat of a busy week ahead of us. Tonight we have care group and we are biking to it. Wednesday we are getting our van fixed, might be spending the evening at my sisters house. Thursday we have nothing. Friday we are going to our baby sitter's school musical. Saturday I have a home school moms brunch, AND it is my hubby's birfday so we will prolly go out for supper, or to take supper to the park (depending on the weather).

I stamped a card for my hubby:

It is a colour challenge, sketch challenge and a trying a new technique challenge from SCS. This is one of my new sets I got for my birthday/income tax return play money. I hope he like this, this is one of my favorite sets, this little truck. In the past I have borrowed my neighbours set to make little truck cards. That's all for now...
