{Scrapbooking} a monster has been created

That's all I think about now. I'm made 3 more layouts since I last posted. It's so much fun, I like getting the pictures into an album with the story behind it there as well! I haven't even thought about card making...yikes!! Need to set some priorities!!


Our 5 yr old, 7 yr old and 9 yr old are all tied for 1st in the most teeth lost, 8!! But I'd have to say our 5 yr old has one the race with most lost by age 6!! Yes, I know, our 5 yr old has lost the same amount as our 9 yr old. Seems odd to me!? Oh well, I'm sure that when they are all in there 80's and have no teeth left, it really won't matter who lost what when! lol


Our little soccer players have a soccer tournament this weekend!! They play 3 games on Saturday at the big indoor soccer event plex at Ipsco place. It'll be fun, but crazy, because 2 of the games overlap, so I will have to jet off and take Emmalee to her game, and jet back to get the rest of the family. This weekend is the last weekend for soccer for Emmalee's team. Not sure if there are any tournaments planned for the following 2 weekends or not.

Friday we are getting some major renovations done on our house, our sewer stack is getting replaced. We don't be able to be here, so we are thinking of heading out to the science center for a few hours, and then to our regular AAA(mentioned in previous post). Hopefuly we will be able to start some bathroom reno's this weekend!! It's been kind of depressing, walking into the main bathroom and seeing a large hole in the wall!

Yesterday afternoon, my little niece was here for a little less than 2 hrs. Her momma had a dentist appointment. She was so fun to have here, the kids LOVE LOVE her, and maul her any chance they get. They always want to hold her, but don't realize she's past that stage. But I told them yesterday, don't worry, Aunty is having another baby in May ;) Not too far off!

A little Blizzard

That is what is happening outside. I really wish we didn't have to go out in this weather, but we are leaving in about 30 mins to go to Afternoon Activities (a home school group get together where the kids do a variety of activities).

We have rented quite a few movies with the hopes of staying in most of the weekend. Noah and Alexa have a soccer game at 10am tomorrow morning, and Emmalee's game was switched to Sunday at 2. Otherwise we should be at home the majority of the weekend.

The babysitter thing went well, kids like her, she seems nice enough. So hopefully she will be able to be a regular so that we can go to care group (a weekly get together for people who attend Hillsdale Baptist Church).

I've done 2 more srap book pages, I doubt I will post them.....if you want to see them then you can come to my house sometime you can look at them ;)

My very 1st scrap book page!!

I've been slowly buying things to start scrap booking, cause I've kinda wanted to do it for some time...But after this weekend (which was excellent by the way) and watching 2 friends doing their pages, I was inspired!! I started yesterday and this was the result:

Ya, there is only 1 picture....and it isn't a really fancy page, but I do like how it turned out!! Pretty much everything is from Stampin Up! I printed off the journaling...not too sure if I will continue to print it off, we'll see.

This weekend; it was great, I enjoyed myself and learned alot. Met alot of new people and ate alot of yumm-o food, and even went for a walk on Saturday afternoon. It is gorgeous there, and the retreat building is gorgeous! So thrilled I got to be a part of this fun ladies retreat!!

Tonight we are heading out for a bit, and getting a new babysitter, yet again :( I'm really nervous, as we've never met this girl. But we got her name from our pastors wife, so I trust that it will be ok. But the house needs some serious attention. When I got home on Sunday the house was very tidy, the kids and daddy did a fabulous job...I was also made a fabulous dinner on Sunday as well! Spoiled by my darling hubby, LOVE HIM!! But I haven't kept it up...I was very tired yesterday (ya, after a retreat, weird I know) but I wasn't in the mood too do much house work....But I have to today!

Hubby surprised us when he came home yesterday with some roses for us all!! Six red ones for me, and 1 rose each for the kids. I baked him a heart shaped brownie in the afternoon !!

There is an end in sight

It is -33 right now here in my city. YUCK!! I don't know if the forecast is right, but they are forecasting -5 tomorrow, but get this...-31 with the windchill!!! ACK!! Sunday, sunday is going to be +4. But that changes all the time too, cause this morning when my daughter looked at the weather it said 0 for Sunday. Who pays these people?? Is it on a volunteer basis? Why do they give a 5 or 7 day forecast, when really can only rely on what you wake up to? Oh well. What can we do?

We did our valentines last night. It was an emotional time for me. After a long day of riffs with the kids, and me having no patience, I was teary eyed watching their little faces light up when they saw that their valentine was being opened. And light up even more when the receiver commented on how much they Loved there art work. Makes being a parent so worth it. The love in there hearts is amazing, even if they argue once in a while. Thank-you Jesus for my 4 little blessings!! I love my job!!

My Project is Done!!

I finally got them done!!! It was quite the
undertaking, and I am thrilled with the results!! I let the kids pick out there favorite paper without them knowing what it was for...I laced the sides of the girls boxes and did knots on my sons box. I sure hope they are as thrilled with them as I am. I could have done alot more with the details, but hey, they may or may not survive the week ( I will encourage them to keep them in a safe place)

We had a fun weekend. It was really nice to have 24 hours, with just my hubby. It went too fast though. Kids and grandma did good. I wish we could do it more often! I've come to realize there aren't enough hours in the day...Lately there just isn't enough time to get everything done. I love when things are on a schedule...there is less fighting and less crying...but I haven't been able to get on a schedule since we got back, for various reasons. THURSDAY!!! Yep, that is a day to look forward to!! It is -26 right now, and it is 11am. Thursday is supposed to be -6, Friday -4, and Saturday -2 ( I won't be here then, but still...) We are getting OUT of the deepfreeze!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!

I am going to a Ladies Retreat this weekend!! I think I need some time to ponder, read, sleep, walk....whatever *I* want to do!! It sure will be nice to have a few nights away. We are going to a place about 3 1/2 hours north of here, so that means a long bus ride! I like road trips! It will be neat to travel on a bus with a bunch of other women needing to get away!! I went on this same trip last year, and my mom and sister also came along. It was nice to have them there with me. They aren't coming this year, so it is kind of a new experience for me again. I wish that they were coming along aswell, for there own sake, but I understand why they aren't.

We are planning our vacation this year already. We are tentatively going to Drumheller in September. Looking forward to planning this trip! We are also tentatively planning our vacations for the next 3 yrs. We, *I*, would like to go to the West Coast next year, and possibly going south in 2yrs. Or maybe east. We'll see...we still have alot of time to plan.

I had no intentions

of stamping last night...really, I didn't. I got my fill of stamping this weekend, so I had no intentions of stamping last night. We have a busy next few days so my mind has been racing to not forget what to pack, and what to buy and such. So when I saw the CC100 this week, I wanted to see what these colours were like together. So I stamped last night:

My new favorite stamp set is Delight in Life, and from start to finish this card maybe took me 30 minutes. I saw a layout in a Stampin Up! mini catalogue, and went from there. I added stickles to the centers of the flowers for a little glittery look. And of course, when you work with glitter, it gets everywhere you don't want it...I'm not a huge fan of glitter.

Like I mentioned already, this week is busy, leading up to the weekend! I am sooo looking forward to a little alone time with hubby to contemplate life, school, the future. And to enjoy some sleeping in! I am hoping we can Saturday morning...I plan on unplugging the phone in the hotel room, or calling to the front desk and asking for a Do not disturb on our phone and room. And for the first time ever, I mentioned to take our bathing suits along for a dip in the hot tub. I just want to relax. Wish we could stay 2 nights!

So I've been buried in laundry for 2 days, and keeping the house in order so that we can come home to a tidy house, as well as doing school everyday and dealing with children's squabbles. Why do they need to be so mean to each other sometimes? Don't get me wrong, 99% of the time they get along great...just when they don't, they are mean, name calling or hitting. I don't know why...they are kids? Is that the explanation? Or is there more to it? There is always a consequence to their actions, so you'd think they would learn...but I just don't know. Some day, they will get along just great I'm sure. Sibling rivalry

Off to launder some more!!

She so much wants to be a grown up, she wants to be like her sisters. So sweet and innocent, not yet aware of what the world holds for her. Something that totally stunned her daddy and I was when we were out for supper a few weeks back and I was trying to keep her attention, drawing things on the paper they provided and having her try to guess what it is. Well, they only had a few colours so I took one crayon and tried drawing a rainbow, 3 curved lines right...she guess that is was sound!!! SOUND, like in cartoons, or in drawings when an object is supposed to be making a sound. Wow, amazing. She just keeps on amazing me with her vocabulary for her age too. I am so sad that in a few short months my baby will be 4. She plans on Monday what she wants to do for her night to stay up on Thursday. She wants her hair done in 2 ponys, on this side and this side (as she points to either side of the back of her head). These glasses she has on were Emmalee's first pair. She looks adorable in them!

I am getting a little sick of this weather. It is -20, and has been for a while not, usually colder. With the windchill it it bad. Don't want to go anywhere. We have fresh snow, and I would love to send the kids out to shovel, but isn't that against the law when it is so cold? I forget once in a while that it is winter, then I glance out our school room window and see snow on the trees, oh ya...that's why we are trapped inside...This year for the first time, I am soooooo looking forward to spring!!

We are going out for a bit this evening, having supper with some good friends of ours. It will be so nice to go out for supper without the kids. Just supper, no movie, no bowling, no nothing, just supper. We will however stop by the grocery store after supper to grab a few necessities! Then home in time to put the kids to bed and have Noah's night to stay up still.

A whole lotta stamping going on...

I started stamping yesterday evening, and worked until I aquired a severe stomach ache around 11, then I continued stamping this morning around 11:30. I didn't feel so hot last night, wasn't sure if I was going to make it or not. Today seems to be a bit better, I still feel a little bit ill, but I'm persevering. Not sure what it is...

Baby, it is cold outside

Wow, we are stuck in a deep freeze with severe windchills that make it -46C out. That was what it was when I took Emmalee to her soccer game at 8:30 this morning. YUCK. And it didn't let up for the rest of the time we were out.

Emmalee's team did awesome!!! One of there best games, it was a tie score, but we got the first goal, and that almost NEVER happens!! It was an on the edge of your seat game!! She played very well, and she took one for the team...right in the head. SMACK with the soccer ball. OUCH. Poor girl...the ref asked if she was alright...she said yes and ran off in tears. My baby took one for the team! (It was a really hard hit, nearly knocked her glasses right off her face :(

After that I picked up my mom and we headed out to Balgonie to watch the SaskPower Scotties Tournament of Hearts Women's Curling Champions to decide who was going to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Lethbridge! It was fun. The game we were at wasn't the deciding game. We were able to watch part of the former Sandra Schmirler team play, and win. It was like watching stars in the flesh! My mom and I were avid Schmirler fans!! We sure miss her, and her curling game. Breanna sees the commercial on tv and with Sandra Schmirlers voice, hurry hard. And Bre always say hurry hurry hurry, hurry hard.

We headed for lunch with my mom and dad and then to Costco for a stroll around. I just wanted to get home. After everyone arrived home and we had some quiet time, we made valentine card holders. It was so fun to see there imagination at work. Daddy and mommy made one too!!

We are nestled in for the evening, for some quiet time, I hope, as quiet as 4 children and a husband can be. Maybe I will stamp...I'm having withdrawls. What? It's been like 3 or 4 days.
