It Came & It Went

Christmas that is....It is over, and it was good! It didn't last long enough. For the first time in like 11 years, I actually asked hubby if we could stay another night at his moms place! (but we didn't) Reason being is this:
Hubby and his younger brother cleared the slew (i have no idea how to spell that) beside the farm house, and kids and everyone went skating (cept me). It was soo much fun, they did a super job clearing the snow!! Took them about 2 hours! They cleared it on Christmas Day, and they skated a bit before supper, and then Boxing Day morning we all went out there for 2 hours and just had fun!

Christmas was good, I got a few things that I wanted & needed! I just enjoyed the time with the kids! My house is full of boxes, intruction booklets, and lots of new colourful toys! There isn't really ONE thing that is a bigger hit, they like pretty much everything they got.

Now we wait for the next big event to hit this household, our oldest daughters 9th birthday! It will be a great day, already planned! Church, Lunch out, Movie and home for a relaxing new years eve evening!

Here are a few more pictures from Christmas! Christmas at the farm, our tree, gifts & fire, and a CUUTE picture of my baby girl!

Only 2 more sleeps!!

Wow! I'm soo excited! We've had such a lazy day here, laundry, and hanging out, watching movies, and chatting! It's been a great day. I'm contemplating making sugar cookies or not! I should, the kids love doing the icing!! Ok, I'm going to, right after I finish this! Then I will post a picture of the yummy results!

The whole family went out sledding last night, it was great! There is a big hill near our local Wal-Mart, and we went there. We met up with our neighbour friends who live behind us! It was fun. Then the women folk jetted into the store to get a few things, and wow, was it busy! They had quite a few lines open, and they were at least 10 deep!! I just needed grocery items, glad I'm done my other shopping though! I tried to find some of my favorite chocolate and they didn't have any left :( Lindor Lindt (or whatever they are called) chocolates.

We've been watching a few old home videos today. Does it take me back, and makes me sad too! Seeing my youngest at 8 months, and watching her watch herself! It was sooo awesome! I want to watch more later!!!

But, off to make some cookie dough, I will post a picture later, stay tuned (like there is anyone reading this right now on a saturday evening 2 days before christmas!! <:~S

Here are the final results:

mmmmmmmmm, they taste good!

Hair Cuts and Oil Changes!

Last evening, we ventured out to my sisters place! She is our hair dresser! Hubby got a hair cut, and Breanna got her bangs cut! I also got a few streaks done!!

My baby sister just celebrated her birthday day before yesterday!! She also has a cuuuutie pie baby girl who was 1 early this month! AND she is expecting her second baby, due in May 2007! I'm soo thrilled, I'm going to be an aunt again, AND I get to be in the room with her again aswell! I was in the room with her 1st born! It was an amazing experience!! FYI~I am the second born of 4 children. I have an older brother, a younger brother & a younger sister (mentioned above).

Also, her hubby is a mechanic, and he changed our oil!! Not too many places you can say 'I got my hair done and oil changed all in the same place!!' We are very blessed!!

Yesterday, I got my snow pants and boots on, and went to play in the snow with my kids! It was gorgeous here, -2 I think. We had soo much fun! The kids made a fort under the large ever green tree in the front and I burried myself in the snow! It was so much fun, I need to do that more often!!

TGIF, I am thrilled that this is the friday right before christmas! But, it's going to be a very loooonnggg weekend!! Why couldn't christmas morning be saturday morning, not monday morning!! Sigh...oh well, at least we are done shopping! The malls are insane!!

This is a picture of my kids from Sunday, December 17th. We had Christmas at my mom and dad's place!

We weren't at home yesterday, we took the kids skating yesterday afternoon. I have to share a little about my 3 yr old!! She's soooo sweet, and this is only her 2nd time on skates here in this video. The first time, she did the same, I just don't have 'evidence'! I'm so shocked at how well she does on skates. The video only took us 2 hrs to figure out, well, maybe not quite 2 hrs, but almost!!

I took a picture of her little foot too. I just can't get over the size of her skate.
And the rest of the crew! They Love, Love skating!! And you can't really see it, but Noah has one of hubby's old hockey jersys on, a full circle moment for hubby!!

Midnight Shopping

Well, we ventured out at midnight to the Wal-Mart near us, who recently when to 24/7 shopping for the holiday season. I was very shocked at how busy it was. It was like an average october evening at 7 or 8 pm. My hubby and I needed to get a few things for eachothers stockings. It was fun, we set a limit of $20, and I am very pleased that I won the challenge, and got 5 things for $19.14. My husband on the other hand, spent $25 on 4 items! Oh well, I'm glad it is for me ;)

We are totally done our Christmas shopping. Two weeks ago we hadn't even started, and I was stressing just a little, but now, phew, we are done, and just have baking to do.

I am so glad we get a break of the every day things for 2 weeks. Next week I get to look forward to a few fun things. One I mentioned already, and the other thing is just as exciting! Our good friends are coming to town to stay at a hotel for the holidays, and I invited our family over to visit with them ;) hehehe They are staying for 3 days, how could I not want to go visit with them!!! I'm looking forward to getting out, just to visit, and have fun as families!! They have 7 kids, and we have 4, so it is quite a lot of fun when our 2 familes get together! Looking forward to the visit!! (If your reading this good friends, you'd better remember to phone!! LOL)

Off for now!! Hubby just phoned and wants me to go fill the van with gas, cause the price of gas is going up, and it is still 89.9 at the south Co-op!! Chow!

It's over!!

Ten years after investing in a high risk investment that went south, no punn intented, it is finally over! We have settled at the pretrial conference!!! Thanks be to God for being with me today as we sat through hours of waiting for counter offers, and discussions!! We are ordering in this evening, sort of as a celeratory supper!!

It's been a long day, and with hubby having the last few days off, and grandma being here, I'm out of whack with what day it is, and what I still have to do before we have christmas here! Hubby will be home tomorrow and thursday off too if I could get him to stay home, but I doubt that will happen. That's probably a good thing that we can get back to our daily life here at the house!

I wanted to post a picture. This is a rose that got on my 10 yr wedding anniversary, and I was playing with the new camera I had, and the settings on it, and I'm in awe at how beautiful it turned out, I had to post it! Gods beautiful creation!!

Until next time!!

It's almost christmas!

Well, Saturday ended up being a good day. Hubby did go get his mom at 4:00pm, and didn't get home till after 9:30. So, I got my baking in, and it was great!! Emmalee stayed with me and we got a lot done! We made 3 batches of carmel corn, and some crookies (a soda cracker desert made with chocolate and butter and brown sugar that tastes like Twix bars). And we also go some work around the house done!! But now it is Monday, and nothing is getting done. Sigh...oh well. It'll be waiting for me when I have the time. This week is another busyish week. My hubby and I are away during the day at a pre-trial conference that will hopefully end soon!

We had Christmas with my side of the family yesterday. It was good! Got some fun stuff, and are already using it, feels kinda weird, since christmas day hasn't come yet. We still have a few things to get before the big day comes here, but we aren't in a panic! My mother in law is here, and she wants to do some shopping, so we'll get out there before she goes home on Thursday!

I plan to bake at some point this week. Sugar cookies, some more carmel popcorn, maybe some tarts, peanut butter balls, we'll see how much time is left in the week!

I'm looking forward to next week, I get to meet one of my best friends new adopted daughter!! She's flying in from the states to visit her family and 'extended family' ;) I hope she invites me over, and I hope that we can get out to Boston Pizza just the 2 of us, but if I had to just choose one, I'd have to say meeting her daughter would be 1st on my list! I mean, look at her, wouldn't you want to meet her too ;) She's gorgeous!!!

Still laundering! Off I go...

Busy Day!

Last night my husband and I were able to get out without the kids to go shopping!! Thanks to my mom and sister!! We got everything done, and had time to have a bite to eat! It was fun, and I am sooo looking forward to seeing their faces when they see what we got for them!! I love giving!
Today, the weather hasn't been very cooperative :( My husband and children were supposed to go out to get his mom, 2 hrs North West of here. But the weather was bad out there! So he turned around, and I now I have to share my once quiet Saturday with a house full. I was really looking forward to having some time to bake, and clean, and launder, I'll get over it I'm sure.
Three of the kids were involved in a play this past week. It was a lot of fun to prepare for, and watch! Emmalee had a big role, 23 lines as she will tell you!!

This is Emmalee, as Miriam, in a play at our church called "Tour of Bethleham. She did so well! She had a lot of lines to learn, and I think she memorized the whole play!! We were very proud of her!!

Noah was a shepherd, and Alexa was an angel! You can't see Noah, all you can see is his blonde head (the only one with out a head piece)
Off to Launder and bake!! Have a great weekend!!

The day the blog was started!

Well, after some thought and a little pressure from a friend, I have decided to start a blog. It won't be a very exciting blog, maybe just a place to vent my frustrations, or post a funny from one of my beautiful children. I hope whoever reads this blog will get a kick out of my boring life.

A little about me and my house! I have 4 children, ranging in age from almost 9 - 3. At one point in life, I had 4 kids, 5 and under. It was crazy, and I am happy to say I survived, barely. We homeschool our children, which is quite the daily adventure. My husband and I have been married 11 years! And I am happy to say, that I can't wait to have 11+ more years with this man. He is a wonderful provider, and a very forgiving man!! He's great, and he's mine!!

I stamp cards for a hobby. Some day I will start scrapbooking, but at this point, I don't think I can. I have all the things to start, except pages. And I know there is going to be alot more that I will want to buy to do more with the pages, and there isn't enough money coming in for that to happen! Some day!!

Well, that's all for now! TGIF!!
