Plus Forty Four

That is what it feels like with the humidity today, it really is +34. YIKES. It's been like this for a few days and no end in sight. I'm so thankful we have a little window air conditioning unit, makes it bearable in here and we are all happier because of that (me anyways).

We haven't been up to much lately, nothing exciting anyways. We had a garage sale on Saturday, the Saturday previous to that we went out of town to my aunt and uncles 25th wedding anniversary. It was nice to get out of town again for a bit. Also have had the odd visitor, my sister and her little ones whom I can't get enough of, Aubrie (she's soooo cute!!)

I have been babysitting Isabella (my brother's daughter) this past week, and again for another week. It's been different having a little one around again. I'm not used to being followed, it's been a while (my baby is 4). Looking so big in the double bed!!

We've also been sick aswell, a little flu that has been going around the family. Noah and Breanna on Wednesday, me on Thursday and Em and Alexa today. Hubby feels yucky too. But we are on the mend. We have made some time to go to the spray park a few times: (I though this pic was so good, I took it about 10 feet away from the play structure, and they all happened to be in the picture, and no other kid fully visible, and there were quite a few there!!!!)

No stamping (cept a very quick card for my aunt and uncle) No scrapbooking. I'm going through some serious withdrawls. I think I need to do something about it and soon!! Any suggestions??

Have a HOT week, I'm mean great week!!

A glimpse into our weekend

We had some fun on the beach. A little too much sun though, I got really burnt, and so did Noah and Alexa and my hubby too! But we had so much fun!

We had naps (Em, hubby and I while the other 3 played sooo nicely)

We washed dishes (mostly I did, but I had help from a few others)

We went fishing (I forgot the camera, but this is noah looking through his tackle box)

Our first camping trip to Rowans Ravine was fun! Saturday morning I was ready to go home, but sunday morning I was telling my husband was we were driving away, I want to go back...We are looking forward to our trip in August!!

This Just in.....

We're going camping, we're going camping...that is if I don't loose it first!!!! My goodness! I love my kids, don't get me wrong....you'd think that after telling them over and over about something like oh, the water hose, they'd learn...My son wants to water the flowers, GREAT, go ahead, saves me a little time!! In the house, packing madly, cleaning madly and what happens, freaking mothers instinct pops into overdrive...I say to my eldest daughter (whose helping me get ready inside), "I better go outside make sure they aren't getting muddy and wet" Cause you know, ya don't want muddy wet kids in the van on the way to our 'vacation' SIGH. What do you know...water hose no where near the flowers, but I guess they though the slide needed to grow a few inches....{insert screaming here}

Ok, now that I've cried and prayed and typed, I think it's all good now...no wait, they are still outside...Have a great weekend everyone, and hug on your kids a little, but not too tight ;)

I wanna go camping....{insert whinny voice here}

Our trailer is in the shop today getting the add-a-room attached, we'll get it back this evening I think. But man, I really want to go camping! Just get away from the everyday. We are nearly done school for the year, probably about a week left if we (I) push them. It's not that big of a deal to me to have a set time to be 'done' because every day I look for ways to 'do school'. But I think I'm ready for a break. I will still be working with Alexa over the summer, she really wants to learn to read, so during our quiet time, we will work on a reading lesson or two a day!! We also have started a summer reading program with the other kids, to keep them reading over the summer. When they reach a combined total of 100 books we will do something fun, ie Rider Game, Mini Golf, Bowling. So far they are at a combined today of 23 I think, and they just started on Monday! Go Kids!!

I need some motivation though today. My house has been hit by 4 tornado's!! I can't believe how much 'damage' 4 little tornado's could do, but if you stopped at my house right now you'd see for yourself (just ask my4blessings aka Renee C., she was here this morning). I think I know what I will be doing all afternoon, evening and tomorrow! Want to be able to sit and watch the Rider game in a somewhat tidy living room. Go Riders!!

Anyways, off to look at my new su! catty and be of some sort of assistance to my kids in the school room. Go Ara!! Go...now

We had a Fantastic Weekend!

We took off with our new camper Friday afternoon, to camp for the first time. We had a lovely weekend! We stayed at my parents place and went fishing Friday night. Saturday morning we were watching the weather channel and trying to decide if we should head into the city to the fair. We had to go, and just pray that the weather changes, and doesn't ruin out plans. This is what we drove through on the way to the fair. We weren't sure if we were doing the right thing, but when we got there, the weather was HOT HOT HOT. It was a great day, thank goodness there was a wind, or we would have all had heat stroke. Breanna and I took off to the kiddie rides, while my hubby took the three older ones to the big rides. I can't wait till they all can go on the same rides, it was so boring for me. I was too hot to get any pictures, so this is the only good one I got.
Breanna wasn't too sure about this ride...she didn't have time to see the ride in use before she went on, otherwise she probably wouldn't have gone on. But she did good, and actually asked to go on it again after they got off!!
They were sooo wiped from Saturday, they all slept in till after 8 on Sunday morning!! We went swimming and fishing at the near by lake on Sunday, and if the water was warmer we would have stayed longer. We all had an afternoon nap too on Sunday, just an all in all relaxing, peaceful weekend! We loved it so much, and were able to convince my brother and his wife to get themselves a tent trailer ;) We are already looking forward to our next trip!!

If you knew me....

You'd know I was shy, and have a hard time striking up a conversation with anyone, let alone someone I've never met personally but plays a huge role in my husbands career. Today, while shopping at Costco, I found myself standing in line with the CEO on my husbands company standing behind me. I felt like I should say something, my husband works for this man...I leaned over and said, "My husband works at the ********." He said, "What?" I said it again, and he said "Oh, what's his name?" and I told him and he said, "Oh ya, yes." Then I told him I was surprised to see him in Regina. The company bought another major company and he has been traveling to Winnipeg and Calgary a lot lately. He told me he had just got in today, and then he asked how long my husband has been with the company and I told him. But you gotta know, it's just not like me to strike up a conversation with someone major like that. I was floored with myself!!! I immediately phoned my husband and told him and he was kinda surprised too! I then phoned my parents to tell them, ya, I was that impressed!! And they were shocked too. They also mentioned they were heading out to Regina beach for supper and to fish, so we decided to take the trip and meet them. It was a great night!!

We had supper, which was good. If anyone knows about Butlers, it's been around for almost 80yrs, and it has awesome fish and chips AND milkshakes!! It was pouring when we got to the lake, and after supper it was perfect fishing weather! Breanna was the first to catch something, it was a minnow...but it was still a catch!! My sister was the next to catch, she caught a pretty big jack, took a few pictures and set it free. Then another man caught 2, but they got away before he could pull them up. And shortly before we were about to leave, I caught a fish!!! But, mine too got away before it could be pulled up to the dock, AND it took my spoon and hook too! Some one's going to be in for a big surprise when they catch supper and find a really nice spoon along with the fish!

On the way home we went through some yucky weather, and the kids just got to bed, and it is after 10 now. TWO full hours past there bedtime. But it was a great evening, and Father's Day, so it was all OK. Maybe they will sleep in a little tomorrow!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and your Father's were blessed by you in some way. Whether it be a phone call, a card, a visit, a hug or a prayer to your heavenly Father. And for those whose father's have gone onto heaven already, my husband being one of them, I pray you find comfort in those around you and had someone special to spend your day with.
