Pure Love~A love that one never forgets!

{My Nanny}

Even if her mind has been taken over by a horrible disease, there is one thing that she will never forget, the love she has for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, the love she has for babies! And the love she has for her daughter. Even if her words come out as mumblings, they are her words, and she still makes sense in her mind. Sometimes things will come out, and it will be like nothing is wrong, like her mind is clear again from the disease. She told Emmalee that she looked tired, she told us there was a rude one (guessing it is someone at the nursing home). She held onto my niece Aubrie and rocked her like she had done for so many years with us! Pure, true love that comes from deep inside, the kind of love that no one ever forgets, even if you have Alzheimer's, we still love you!!!!

{Morning}

I am not a morning person, at all. But I am thinking I kinda need to start being one. My husband gets up quite early, way toooo early for me! His alarm clock does not wake me up. I usually get woken up by the sounds of children going pee, or walking up the stairs. I get kinda grouchy when I get woken up, and I don't like it. I need not to be so grouchy in the morning, and I thought getting up before them would help....I've been getting up before them for about a week, and the first few days, I was still grouchy. Then I decided to tell myself, Don't be! Don't be grouchy, it's all a matter of choice...you can choose the kind of behavior you want to portray. And I want to portray a refreshed, ready for the day mommy! I am still working on that part, but hey, I'm trying!

We have some sickly little kids right now. I was hoping it wouldn't get worse, sore throats and a little cough, but it has gotten worse with my baby. She woke up in the middle of the night in pain, asking for a drink, and bright and early this morning saying her ear hurts! Not fun! It's very hard to keep on schedule when one of the kids are sick.

We are getting close to an exciting event happening in our family. This is the month the kids are getting a new cousin!! They are sooo excited, as am I! I can't wait to get the phone call!! I'll maybe get the kids to guess what the baby will be and post as it gets closer to the date!

As spring gets closer, so does camping season!! Let me tell you, our trailer is in storage right now, but we all miss it! I think this is the last year it will be in storage, for a few reasons. 1 it costs waaaaayyy too much!! 2 after we put it in storage last yr, I wanted to use it a few more times!!

Valentines Day

Heart day, love day, whatever you and your family call it, it is one time a year when you are given permission to go overboard in showing your affection to the ones you love. Ever since my kids have been little, we've always given them something, a stuffed animal, a note pad, chocolate, whatever. Well, this year was a little stressful for me, because it seemed like I had a ton of other things going on....I stayed up really late the night before finishing the valentine cards, and I love love how they turned out!!! Plain and simple, but sometimes I think less is more when doing my cards!!Breanna's is purple, noah's is green, Emma's is white and pink with flowers, Alexa's is the yellow one, and my hubby's is the blue one with the striped paper!!
I also got this lovely potted mini roses from my darling husband, I love them and think they are adorable!! There is already a new bud growing, instead of a dozen roses dying right about now!!

There was a lunar eclipse last night, Feb 20th, and I didn't realize until the kids were in bed, so we got 3 of them out of bed to witness it!! It was pretty cool!! They were definitely excited. Something I don't think I have even seen!

We have another birthday party to go to today, the kids are sooo excited! We love parties!! And to all be invited to hang out with all of our friends is so thrilling for me, cause then I don't have to deal with the, "it's no fair, or why can't we go too?" comments, but also because it's a great time to get to know friends better and for the kids to grow there friendships aswell!!
Have a great week, and weekend!

{FAMILY DAY}

Well, for some familes this is a day that was started as a holiday a few yrs back, to break up the slump in between New Yrs and Easter. Get this, my husband works for a company that does business in quite a few canadian provinces....the people who work for this company in a neighbouring province get this day off......in our province, the company doesn't allow this day off??!!?!?? What's up with that???? I just don't get it. It sure would have been nice to have my hubby home for the day....maybe next year this company will get a clue!!

I had a wonderful weekend! For Christmas this past year, I gave my mom a weekend pass for 2, to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, a championship curling bonsbiel if you will, that includes all the Canadian provinces. She invited me along for 4 out of the 5 draws, and I loved it! It was over 10 years ago that I really got into curling, and it was all because of a local woman who became a national champ. No, I never knew her, but she was from my province, and she was making curling an exciting thing to watch!! She passed away from cancer at a very young age, but I have continued on with watching and enjoying the sport she made famous. She won the very first Gold Medal in the Olymics the year that curling first became an offical winter olympic sport!

I am really looking forward to spring. We have been having some pretty ugly and cold weather. I can't wait to do park days again, or going out and planting some flowers, going for walks and bike rides! What are you looking forward to doing once spring arrives?

{Home Schooling}

I love to home school for sooooo many reasons. The main reason I wanted to home school was selfish reasons, I wanted my kids home with me, I didn't want them at school, eating lunch by themselves, when for 4-5 yrs we always ate lunch together! But as the years have gone on, 6 now since we started, I've love it for sooo many more reasons! I still LOVE LOVE LOVE having my kids at home with me, even if somedays I want to pull my hair out. I love that *I* am teaching them to read, write, and all the other fun stuff! I've taught 3 to read now, it's an awesome feeling to hear them read and know you've taught them!! I love teaching them what my husband and I want them to know, not what a school board, or whoever has decided they need to know. I love that our family supports us!! I love that we can take vacation anytime of the year, do school while camping or on vacation (which doesn't happen too often), not having the bad outside influence on a daily basis, they do 'socialize', and see there friends quite often, but again, we can help influence that too, who they see, and get to know, and where they go to visit. I love the relationships with other homeschool families that we have developed, and the life long friends my kids will have!

I love that they want to help eachother if I am busy with another child!!

I love being able to just get up and go somewhere, and witness something amazing, like the Grey Cup Parade! :D

The relationships the have with eachother, they want to play with eachother, 99% of the time...lol

I love having a room to use for just school stuff!! I have had this room for 2 years now, before, for the first 4, we schooled at the table, and it was fine, I just had soooo much stuff, I needed a room to contain it all, and I wanted to be able to close the door if it's messy!!

I love that they want to be creative, and they want to learn, these are hand drawn pictures of flags from all over the world and provinces, the kids didn't want to try to attempt the Saskatchewan flag, because of the Lily, so I gave it a try, they loved that I was doing it right along with them!

Is that enough, are you sick of knowing why I love home schooling?? There are soooooo many more reasons, I could go on forever!
(spell check isn't working right now, I hope there aren't any, I've gone over it a few times, but you never know)
