The Plan Was to

Start school this morning, January 7th, 2008. Well, I'm not. My school room, (see below) it has been a huge mess, and I mean HUGE, since school ended on the 21st. I can now imagine what my house would look if we didn't do the daily pick up, dishes and whatever. Yikes. We aren't starting for a few reasons, the school room is a mess, they are starting afternoon gymnastics today, and I'm not feeling well still. We won't be starting tomorrow either, because it is my Grandpas funeral. So, Wednesday, I hope.

I actually bought a card the other day for my mom. I couldn't even begin to try to make one that would be even close to what I wanted to say, so I decided to buy one, well, I actually bought two cause I couldn't decide, so I gave her one already, and I will give her one maybe tomorrow or later in the week.

Stay tuned for picture update, from Christmas, new yrs and Em's birthday!

Sadness

Yesterday I found out my grandpa passed away. He was 79 years old, and this April, on my 31st birthday we were going to have a big 80th Birthday party for him, cause his birthday was 2 days after mine. Instead, we are going there, next week, to celebrate his life! He was a pretty cool Grandpa, and had a smile on his face whenever we saw him. His wife of 50 years is in a Care Home suffering from Alzheimer's. My mom has essentially lost both of her parents, as my nanny doesn't know who she is anymore, and hasn't for quite some time. This is very hard on her, but she knows that he is in Heaven with Jesus running up and down the streets of heaven. He hasn't been able to run since he was a young man, when he was running away from a team of horses that ran over him, and crushed his hip.

I made this for my mom for mothers day this year, this is her mom and her one year when we went up to celebrate an anniversary, or birthday.
I love this frame (scrapbook layout) and that picture of my nanny!!!
Give your loved ones an extra squeeze for me today, and hold them close to you. Our time on this earth is short, but our time in Heaven is eternal! Know Jesus!!

Excitement!!!!!

I have to tell you one thing that I am very excited for this year, My husband and I are going to be an aunt and uncle for the 8th time in March!!! My husbands little brother and his wife are expecting their very first baby!!! They are due around the same time I had my third baby! I can't wait for the news of the arrival! I hope that it would work out that maybe we could all go up the day they deliver, even better, be there when they deliver, to hear the news first thing!! Oh, I am getting shivers just typing this, I love new blessings!! What a blessing this little baby is already, and it isn't here yet. WE are thrilled for Chris & Aimee and the new bundle of joy that we can't wait to spoil with hugs and kisses.

Another exciting event, is another baby. My brother and his wife are due with their second child in August of this year aswell!! We are very excited to get to be close by for when their blessings arrives in this world!!

We have so much to be thank-ful for, and so much to look forward to this year! Both families are in my prayers always, for safe deliveries and healthy babies!!

A New Year

I don't make new yr resolutions, I just never have, because I didn't like the pressure of it all. This year I have made one, with no pressure. I'm going to keep it to myself for now, cause I don't want a bunch of people watching and waiting to see if I fail ;) Instead, if you can, pray for me that I will have strength to keep up with my new yrs 'goal', I like that word better, my New Years Goal!!

We had a great Christmas, we did the usual. Christmas at my parents with the whole family (19 of us for now) on the Sunday before Christmas. Then Christmas Eve here, pizza for supper, going to church, coming home and opening a present (new PJ's). Staying up way tooo late on Christmas eve, and waking up waaaaaaaay too early on Christmas morning (this year they tried to get away with 5am, NOT). Then heading out to my husbands childhood home for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Fun times!!

Then this year was different, a week after Christmas our oldest 'baby' was turning double digits!! She is now 10. Very hard to believe! We planned a party with 4 of her friends, and we crafted. Then, about when the last guests were leaving, I crashed.....and am still sick. I got the flu, not a fun way to ring in the new year! Was able to stay up till midnight, and then went to bed at 12:01, even brushed my teeth before midnight so I could just crawl into bed after the clock struck 12. Noah was the only one able to stay up till midnight. Bre crawled into bed around 10:00, Em and Lex went to bed at 11:30.

We don't have alot planned for this year yet, more camping of course, and finishing up the house list we didn't finish last year. What are some of your new years goals??

Happy New Years one and all!!! Hope this year is filled with love and memories to last your lifetime!! Wishing you many blessings!!

I need to vent for a minute.

Please bear with me while I vent.

So, I'm sick, whatever, life goes on. I can barely keep my eyes open, they are watery, I'm blowing non stop, and sneezing more than usual. I don't like taking drugs, but will if I need. I however would like a little bit of lovin from the man of the house, my best friend and life partner. Why is it that when we are sick, we being moms and wives, it's like 'how could you go and get sick and stop doing what you need to be doing to keep this house running?' and when they get sick, they being spouses, it's the end of the world as we know it. I would just like a little back rub, or a shoulder squeeze asking if I'm OK.

As for the drugs, you know it's bad when you go to use some vapour rub and it's expiry date is November of 2003. And the lemony drink, is July of the past year. Now you know that I truly don't really rely on drugs, and speaking of drugs, I think I will go out and buy some more of the expired things this evening, whether I want to or not, I need to, I have too many things to do this week, the week before Christmas. If you could, please say a little prayer for me that I will be all better, soon, and that no one else gets it!!

Thanks and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

The Adventures of Life as a Mother and a Wife

Wow, what a title. But lately I've been thinking alot about being a mother and a wife as well as a daughter, sister and friend. But first and foremost, a mother and a wife. What an incredible experience, it truly is. My husband and I have had some interesting conversations lately about life, and sometimes I wonder if we are the only ones who go through some of these conversations, over and over again it seems. Do you have the same conversations over and over again with your spouse? Or is it just me and my darling husband. Please tell me you do...please. My husband works early in the morning, I however, cough cough, get to 'sleep' in. So when it come to time together to chat or what not, he's tired, and ready for bed. I, well, I could stay up till 1am, not good for me, but I just truly love the quietness that happens at night. Even if the TV is on, which it usually is, I love the quietness that happens at night. Nobody is fighting, nobody is tattling, nobody is crying, nobody is not listening, they are all sleeping soundly in there beds! I LOVE IT!! So anyways, one of our ongoing conversations is about him going to bed earlier than me. Just something that we need to work on, me not being upset that he's in bed and not out here talking to me, him not being upset that I'm out here and not in bed with him.

Anyways, For those who read this, and don't live in Canada, you may have missed the fact that the SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS (our local football team) WON the ultimate in championships, they WON THE GREY CUP!!!!! It was a party in Saskatchewan that night!!!! So fun, sooooo soooooo much fun!! We took in the celebratory Parade and saw the players and mascot, and the CUP!!! It was fast and fun, even if it was -35C with the windchill!!

Speaking of windchill, eeeek, Winter has hit and it has hit us hard!!! Yuk Yuk Yuk. The weather has been in the -30 (plus) with the windchill. I can't wait till spring, when we can go Camping again. We totally miss our trailer. We went to 'visit' it the other day, to take the battery off and put in some bounce sheets to help keep the mice away (thanks Laura). That night my husband looked at all the camping pictures from this past summer!!!! Too fun!

Keep warm, where ever you are reading this from!!
