We had a Fantastic Weekend!

We took off with our new camper Friday afternoon, to camp for the first time. We had a lovely weekend! We stayed at my parents place and went fishing Friday night. Saturday morning we were watching the weather channel and trying to decide if we should head into the city to the fair. We had to go, and just pray that the weather changes, and doesn't ruin out plans. This is what we drove through on the way to the fair. We weren't sure if we were doing the right thing, but when we got there, the weather was HOT HOT HOT. It was a great day, thank goodness there was a wind, or we would have all had heat stroke. Breanna and I took off to the kiddie rides, while my hubby took the three older ones to the big rides. I can't wait till they all can go on the same rides, it was so boring for me. I was too hot to get any pictures, so this is the only good one I got.
Breanna wasn't too sure about this ride...she didn't have time to see the ride in use before she went on, otherwise she probably wouldn't have gone on. But she did good, and actually asked to go on it again after they got off!!
They were sooo wiped from Saturday, they all slept in till after 8 on Sunday morning!! We went swimming and fishing at the near by lake on Sunday, and if the water was warmer we would have stayed longer. We all had an afternoon nap too on Sunday, just an all in all relaxing, peaceful weekend! We loved it so much, and were able to convince my brother and his wife to get themselves a tent trailer ;) We are already looking forward to our next trip!!

If you knew me....

You'd know I was shy, and have a hard time striking up a conversation with anyone, let alone someone I've never met personally but plays a huge role in my husbands career. Today, while shopping at Costco, I found myself standing in line with the CEO on my husbands company standing behind me. I felt like I should say something, my husband works for this man...I leaned over and said, "My husband works at the ********." He said, "What?" I said it again, and he said "Oh, what's his name?" and I told him and he said, "Oh ya, yes." Then I told him I was surprised to see him in Regina. The company bought another major company and he has been traveling to Winnipeg and Calgary a lot lately. He told me he had just got in today, and then he asked how long my husband has been with the company and I told him. But you gotta know, it's just not like me to strike up a conversation with someone major like that. I was floored with myself!!! I immediately phoned my husband and told him and he was kinda surprised too! I then phoned my parents to tell them, ya, I was that impressed!! And they were shocked too. They also mentioned they were heading out to Regina beach for supper and to fish, so we decided to take the trip and meet them. It was a great night!!

We had supper, which was good. If anyone knows about Butlers, it's been around for almost 80yrs, and it has awesome fish and chips AND milkshakes!! It was pouring when we got to the lake, and after supper it was perfect fishing weather! Breanna was the first to catch something, it was a minnow...but it was still a catch!! My sister was the next to catch, she caught a pretty big jack, took a few pictures and set it free. Then another man caught 2, but they got away before he could pull them up. And shortly before we were about to leave, I caught a fish!!! But, mine too got away before it could be pulled up to the dock, AND it took my spoon and hook too! Some one's going to be in for a big surprise when they catch supper and find a really nice spoon along with the fish!

On the way home we went through some yucky weather, and the kids just got to bed, and it is after 10 now. TWO full hours past there bedtime. But it was a great evening, and Father's Day, so it was all OK. Maybe they will sleep in a little tomorrow!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and your Father's were blessed by you in some way. Whether it be a phone call, a card, a visit, a hug or a prayer to your heavenly Father. And for those whose father's have gone onto heaven already, my husband being one of them, I pray you find comfort in those around you and had someone special to spend your day with.

Now I guess we have to plan a trip

Our trailer is here in the driveway, all set up, and we've already done school in it this morning. Kids played house in there to for a bit this morning, it was cute. Now I suppose we have to plan a trip. We will take in on a test trip next weekend to my parents place for a night. And maybe a weekend in July. But I think we will go on a big trip in August. We haven't got anything set in stone yet but that is the plan so far. We are so busy with other things, we have to get some things together to take to my sisters place for a garage sale on Saturday, and I'm not looking forward to that chore. My husband wants me to go through all the containers of clothes we have stored in the basement :( Makes me kind of sad...But I guess it is something that needs to be done.
If I could only have a hired hand to do the dishes, then everything would be ok....That is my downfall, my weakness, not being able to be caught up on dishes. I have a dishwasher, but I don't put everything in there. I do good, for a little while, then it gets piled up again. Anyone else have any dishes issues? Or other issues? Any advice?

Hope you have a great weekend, and I hope the weather gets better!

More photos

We went back this morning to have another look at the trailer, we just wanted to make sure of a few things. We weren't sure how the dinette folded down, so we did that, and we wanted to kinda see how it all folded down too (which we will learn next week).

This is what it looks like from one end (king bed side) with the dinette and sofa bed down

This is what it looks like from the other end (queen bed side) with the dinette and sofa bed set up

We are now a tent trailer family

We went and test drove this PUP, as they are called, this afternoon and will pick it up next week some time. These pictures aren't exactly what we are getting, but the layout is the the model we are getting. It is a 2008 Flagstaff 228D model. I will post a picture of the actual trailer when it is in our driveway. But I just wanted to share my news with my blog readers!
PUP stands for Pop up Trailer (don't ask me why it isn't PUT??)
Oh, and ours does not have the porta potty...

Early in the morning

Last week Friday my husband was off for the day and we went fishing at the lake closest to the city (Regina Beach for those from this area) We got up at our usual time, freshly baked muffins for breakfast and kids who were so excited to go that didn't care that is was drizzling a little. What a gorgeous morning. So calm, and peaceful. We got to the lake and there were a few dozen pelicans chillin on the point. Such a neat sight.

Precious moments like this are food for the soul.

Everyone had a chance to cast out into the lake, but no one was lucky enough to make a catch. We had been out there a few weeks back, and about 10 mins after we got to the lake, my hubby caught a big fish, unfortunately though, we didn't have a net to pull it out of the water to take a picture :( We're prepared now, we have a big net which the kids used to catch crayfish while we were there.

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and plan on doing it again any chance we can!

I took sooo many more pictures, but I don't want to bore you!

Take time to enjoy the simple things in life, and cherish the memories!!
